Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Strip XT Pro Disc combines silicon carbide abrasive mineral with an open nylon web. It effectively removes rust, paint, mill scale, coatings and adhesives without significantly altering the base material. Its high-strength fibres are highly conformable, resist chunking and loading, and perform effectively along workpiece edges.

Benefit from high conformability. The re-engineered fibre construction of the Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Strip XT Pro Disc provides increased conformability without compromising strength. This creates a larger contact area with the workpiece for faster removal rates. The disc also follows weld-bead ripples, helping to polish welds without removing them, and reaches difficult areas without damaging the substrate.

Alongside its high conformability, the disc offers low vibration, reduced chunking, low spark, a high speed rating and long service life — giving you confidence when using it on an angle grinder.

The disc is manufactured by combining sharp silicon carbide mineral with non-woven nylon fibres and resin. Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. The resin bond strengthens the disc and gradually breaks down to expose fresh fibres and sharp mineral, maintaining a consistent cut throughout the life of the abrasive.

Together, the fibre strands, resin and abrasive mineral form a thick, open web. The spring-like fibres follow contours and remove unwanted burrs, soils and contaminants while helping to maintain the workpiece geometry, reducing rework and improving productivity. Gaps in the web allow swarf to escape, helping to minimise abrasive loading.
