The SAFE-GUARD-5 Flashback Arrestor is designed to provide maximum protection for gas welding, cutting and heating applications. Built with the full range of safety features defined by ISO 5175-1, this high-performance flashback arrestor helps protect operators, equipment and gas supply systems from reverse gas flow, flashbacks, pressure surges and excessive temperature build-up.

Key Safety Functions

• Gas Non-Return Valve (NV): Prevents reverse gas flow, helping to stop hazardous gas mixtures from forming.
• Flame Arrestor (FA): Stops flashbacks from travelling back into the gas system.
• Pressure-Sensitive Cut-Off Valve (PV): Automatically interrupts gas flow if a defined pressure threshold is exceeded.
• Temperature-Sensitive Shut-Off Valve (TV): Automatically shuts off gas flow if the unit is exposed to excessive temperature.
• Reset Mechanism (RM): Provides a clear visual indication when the unit has activated and allows fast reset, even under pressure.

Each SAFE-GUARD-5 unit is individually flame-tested during production to ensure dependable performance, safety and reliability in demanding working environments.

Maintenance

To maintain safe operation, the flashback arrestor should be inspected regularly by a qualified and authorised technician in line with national regulations. As a minimum, checks should be carried out once per year for gas tightness, gas flow and correct operation of the non-return valve.
